I didn't calculate whether the bag adds to the price, but just note you shouldn't use the bag regularly.

If you were banking on a permanently water resistant battery, this isn't it.

After seeing that Wellbots deal for $360 a couple weeks ago, hard to pull the trigger now. I missed that sale by one day and emailed customer service to see if I could get the deal and still haven't received a reply.

You will never see $360 for this ever again, due to tariffs. You will never see $420 again either. I would pull the trigger now if I were you.

I'm middle age and grew up where solar was not it (technology was always lagging behind). Is it worth it now to get a solar panel. Ie will it take days to charge? Want to use this for extended camping trips off the grid.

You can do the easy math yourself. Say you have 1kwh power station like the one in this deal, and you get a 400W solar panel to charge the power station from 0%. The optimal situation would be like you have full sun to charge the power station at ~350W per hour. So it would take approximately 3 hours to fully charge your power station.

I got it for $200, and I doubt you will ever see that price again.

Why do you say you shouldn't use the bag regularly? I purchased the similar bag for our Delta 2 Max, and used it for a two month camping trip with no issues. In fact, it certainly helped with keeping the battery from getting too cold to charge/discharge overnight, without seeming to have a big issue on raising temps during the day (although I'll certainly keep an eye on temps with hotter weather). It helped with ever present dust as well.

Or did you just mean you wouldn't count on the water resistance of the bag? I'd agree with that, although I'd certainly rather have the bag than not if I was worried about it getting wet. We kept the battery in our tent though, and just ran lines through the door for the solar, coolers, and Starlink.

Overall I'd say the bag was worthwhile, even though I paid separately and it was kind of silly expensive (like $60 I think?).

Because it's not meant to be maintained or used indoors with the bag on permanently.

Undoubtedly, some people will stick this in a hot garage with the bag on and kill it.

I wouldn't think having the bag on in the garage (presumably in storage) would make much difference. The battery isn't generating any heat, and there's no airflow, so everything is going to end up at ambient temperature. I store my batteries indoors for this reason.

And,again, during usage, as long as you're monitoring the temperatures and they're well within specs you should be good, right? With all the vents open, I didn't see temps that were out of line with the ambient temperature during hot weather.

I didn't say in storage.

I said while being maintained or used.

Bottom line, it's not supposed to be permanently installed on the battery. Think rain jacket, not phone case.

You aren't really answering the question. If temperature is well in line with specs, what reason can you provide having the case on is an issue?
