If you were banking on a permanently water resistant battery, this isn't it.
I'm middle age and grew up where solar was not it (technology was always lagging behind). Is it worth it now to get a solar panel. Ie will it take days to charge? Want to use this for extended camping trips off the grid.

I got it for $200, and I doubt you will ever see that price again.
Nothing is impossible 😃
Sure thing. You are always welcome to pick up dollar bills on the street from time to time

Or did you just mean you wouldn't count on the water resistance of the bag? I'd agree with that, although I'd certainly rather have the bag than not if I was worried about it getting wet. We kept the battery in our tent though, and just ran lines through the door for the solar, coolers, and Starlink.
Overall I'd say the bag was worthwhile, even though I paid separately and it was kind of silly expensive (like $60 I think?).

Because it's not meant to be maintained or used indoors with the bag on permanently.
Undoubtedly, some people will stick this in a hot garage with the bag on and kill it.

And,again, during usage, as long as you're monitoring the temperatures and they're well within specs you should be good, right? With all the vents open, I didn't see temps that were out of line with the ambient temperature during hot weather.

I didn't say in storage.
I said while being maintained or used.
Bottom line, it's not supposed to be permanently installed on the battery. Think rain jacket, not phone case.
