I know there is gen 1 and 2.
While gen 2 is about $300 on sale, is this the gen 1 or is there gen pro before 2? Is it worth the extra for gen 2?

You just buy a godox wireless transmitter that fits to your Z7... Either xpro-n or x3n. Then this will talk automatically to the transmitter based on the channel you set.
You need a trigger like the R2 nano (Godox X3) or older versions of the trigger. Just make sure you get the Sony version so it works with your hot shoe.
