Why? Apple has the highest bitrate. Not to mention that you get free 4K upgrades when movies get remastered.
Because I don't own any apple devices, hate their close ecosystem.

I had a feeling you were going to say that. First off, that ecosystem is why everything works well together. Second, you don't need to own anything Apple. The Apple TV app is available on TVs, Fire TV devices, Roku, PlayStation, Xbox, and more.
Fandango is nowhere near as consistent. It's a complete roll of the dice with Fandango. With Apple, the only time you don't get an upgrade is if the studio releases some special anniversary edition of the movie that they want people to have to buy all over again. That's very rare, though. Hasn't happened to me in years.
