Thx, OP.
Putting "Ridgid" in the title would help your post because that would trigger more Deal Alerts.

Also wouldn't hurt to have the store name in the title as well.

Example: Rigid 18V Cordless Jig Saw Kit with 2.0 Ah Lithium-Ion Battery and Charger $99 @ Home Depot.

Although, if you had just put the brand name, most people would suspect that the store was HD

Do they have brushless now? Is it much better?

Just in my experience, I'd rather have a corded version. Costs less, more power, and your arm won't get tired from all the weight of a battery if you are doing something up high.

But you are tethered and cord will bother me if I was doing something up high.
Weight of 2AH battery isn't too bad.
I would jump on this if it was brushless (even without battery as I have plenty). I really want a good jigsaw.

The brushless is $80 more without a battery/charger. https://www.homedepot.com/p/RIDGI.../321621768

For the amount of used I'd need a jigsaw for, the brushed version would be good enough. After all, it's less expensive and I'm just a hobbyist woodworker.

I've had this for a few years. It's OK overall, but the bevel lock doesn't hold very well, so if you're not paying attention it will shake itself loose and your angle cuts will get messed up.

FYI, this jigsaw doesn't have a lock-on capability, which comes in handy for long cuts or switching to a barrel style grip.

The brushless motor will last longer but with the life time warranty it doesn't really matter. If the brushed motor goes out, you can just get it replaced with the warranty so i buy brushed when they go on sale.

You can get a brushless for roughly the same price (but no battery) at Direct Tools Outlet.

Does Rigid replace with the same model or newer brushless if old brushed is no longer available. I already have this saw. Bought it with a "hack", returned batteries, ended up around $80. The bundled batteries were 4A and 6A. Regret returning because now i have ryobi cordless vac and other tools that i use with rigid batteries. Always need more battery for the vac.

I recall another poster on one of these Ridgid deals mentioned their brushed tool got replaced with a brushless model. Presumably, because the brushed tool was not available at that time. Just be sure you register each replacement tool and battery that they send back to you.
