How can one begin to learn how to use this without looking like a fool?

Just watch a couple Youtube videos, and maybe keep your first few cuts in the privacy of your garage. I'm planning to set up that Metabo table saw this weekend, which I got from the Lowes sale last week, so that will be my first attempt, too.

Issue turned out to be that the stand wasn't available for shipping and was OOS at most stores near me. So I had to lookup the stand and find a store that had that in stock THEN I was able to complete the order at that store.

Practice cutting at home. I recently started using power tools because I woke up one day and said I need to learn to build things with my hands instead of roaming around doing nothing

I didn't even know they made one in this size, would definitely opt for the bigger blade

Can't check out because the free stand is OOS. Otherwise you have to drop that to get a pretty mediocre price on just the table saw

This VS the popular Skil 10in (for 300ish) for a DIYer? Any thoughts?

Walk the Line - Scene where Johnny Cash's brother dies in a saw accident after being left alone:

Maybe keep at least one witness around!

On a lighter note, the parody from Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story:

I rarely use my table saw anymore. With a few track guides and a circular saw this set up is far more versatile than the table saw alone..

Use the guard and the riving knife, find a good woodworking youtuber for tutorials, i think jonathan katz moses has great instructuonal videos though im not sure if he has any for tablesaws. Use push sticks, use eye protection, watch for kickback(dont stand in the way of it). Never use both the fence and miter gauge at the same time. Have fun making stuff

Stumpy Nubs on YouTube has several good beginner videos. First one you should watch is about table saw safety. It's one of the most dangerous power tools out there, but if you follow safety practices you should be fine.

Can you explain why opt for a bigger blade? Beginner woodworker here. Rely heavily on my circular saw and a clamped straight edge so far. Wondering if I need a table saw and curious about practicality of the size since it was mentioned.
