Cannot fathom how Sony and Microsoft still sell significantly less durable controllers for well over three times the cost of these 8Bitdos. It should be illegal at this point

If anyone is wondering, this is NOT what you want for Yuzu, emulators. You want the "Switch compatible" Bluetooth versions. I've read these will work as a regular controller but without motion controls.

What's the "Hall effect" thing I keep seeing 8bitdo advertise? Never heard of it before.

Like I posted in the wireless thread, I got one of these a few weeks ago, it works great as a PC controller but is very very clicky on the button presses. Think of the loudness as a mechanical keyboard while the ps or Xbox controllers are way more quieter and fluid, I ended up returning mine for a Xbox controller

The only problem with Third-Party controllers for Xbox is they only allow them to be wired which sucks. It's such a dumb policy that should be illegal. There are stuff to make it wireless, but the USB is kind of pricey.

In layman's terms, they use magnets so the sticks don't drift. None of the major first party controllers have them.

Has anyone here used hall effect sticks, and if so when compared to traditional is there a difference in feel or motion?

I ask because I have seen a few comments now complaining that the sticks do not feel as "smooth" and that the commenters ended up switching back to drift prone sticks... Is there any truth to those claims?

I had a launch XBox Series X controller last for years, before stick drift. Bought a new XBox Seris controller and had stick drift in about 2 months. WTF?!
I'll give these a shot for the price. You can literally buy 3-4 of these for the price M$ is charging or going to start charging in the near future... Without Hall Effect anything.

They are superior in terms of longevity and performance imo. I use Gamesir controllers and have had mine since 2023 and still zero drift or problems. Play Apex, Fortnite, NHL, FC, etc
