A good way to check as well is in Movies Anywhere. If FAH upgrades you, it historically has not ported the upgrades to MA (same goes for when Apple upgrades an Apple-purchased title).

I don't know of any 1080p DV movies; does your statement imply that my copy is not 4K? (Genuinely asking; I always assumed Apple gave you the 4K copy if you had any copy of it through MA, but I could be wrong!)

Believe Apple auto upgrades only if you bought it from them. My MA titles that I bought from elsewhere as HD remained as HD even after a 4K version became available on itunes afaik
I can confirm that I have The Departed via Movies Anywhere, in HD, but on my Apple TV, it shows The Departed in the 4K HDR category (with DV) and when I play it, it plays in Dolby Vision.
It is *possible* that it plays in 1080pDV (I've never seen this happen before, but it is strictly possible) but I don't think that's the case. I think it's playing the 4KDV version of the movie, because I've never seen a retail HD movie with DV.
I purchased SEVEN through one of the Mix & Match deals on FAH and got the HDX version. FAH later upgraded it to 4K UHD. Movies Anywhere shows I have HD. The AppleTV app on iOS shows "4K, Dolby Vision," while the Mac OS AppleTV app and Roku app shows "HD," which it plays at as well.
I also purchased The Departed via a bundle on iTunes/Apple, and it still shows I have The Departed in HD. But it says "HDR, HD, Dolby Vision" but no 4K. I haven't done as much research into that title specifically—maybe WB re-listed a new 4K version that doesn't upgrade automatically? It's allowing me to "buy" the 4K for $14.99 via Apple.
