I'm sure it's been mentioned and buried but extended warranty benefit goes away next month which sucks
Uhh yeah I have an Amex, this is not true lol
I'm sure citi fought hard in the bidding process to beat Amex to get the Costco account. Part of the terms were probably to offer better benefits for the customer....

Hate this card. Citi uses nasty tactics to generate late payment interest. I'm middle aged and have had credit cards since my early 20s. I have never, NEVER, had a late payment until my wife and I got this card. They send reminder emails at odd times, or sometimes not at all. They display credit balances that aren't actually due that look like they're due. It just a terrible company. I'm planning to cancel it. Costco should pair up with a better company.

Go paper. Then you won't have to worry about missing the email message

This tells me you do not pay attention to the due date which is almost the same time each month. Remember, no one can help you better than yourself.

Yep. Chase and Amazon = 5%. Costco should be able to demand 5% back at Costco and Costco.com not a measly 2%.
Read the fine print. It won't work at competitor gas stations.. example: Kroger, Safeway, etc. It will only give 1%. Best is if you can just use at the Costco gas stations because they are already cheaper in general, and using this credit card will give you the extra 4% at Costco gas.
However, it will work at 4% at Shell, Chevron, etc.. but why would you go there if you can just go to Costco gas which is already cheaper (in my area, at least $.30 cheaper than regular gas stations)?

4% cash back on eligible gas worldwide, including gas at Costco, for the first $7,000 per year in gas purchases and then 1% thereafter.
Certain Non-Qualifying Purchases. You will only earn 1% cash back, not 4%, for gas purchased at superstores, supermarkets, convenience stores and warehouse clubs other than Costco or for fuel used for non-automobile purposes.
I wonder if that's more a merchant coding thing. I'd hardly consider C stores competitors to Costco. Other warehouse clubs yes, but not C stores or even supermarkets.
Does anyone know if there's another card with the extended warranty perk available anymore?
My go to big purchase are on Amex platinum. That has extended warranty, purchase protection (You can file a claim if within 90 days of your purchase, you lose what you bought, it breaks, or it gets stolen), and returns protection (If The seller won't take back your purchase)

No. I've noted it before. My other credit cards (Wells Fargo Autograph and Amex) will give me 3% at the exact same gas station and shows coded as "gas" on my billing statement. Costco/Citi explicitly has it programmed in their software, if it says like "Fry's/Kroger/Safeway/VONS/etc Gas" to only give 1% because it's a competitor.

Citibank is the worst when it comes to resolving conflict. They threw me under the bus for 1200 for a hotel reservation where to travel agency got a credit from the hotel . It took 14 months of battle to get my money back.

Manager at Costco told me Amex wanted to have Costco charge more for the membership. Whether true or not no idea. Only came up because I mistakenly tried using Amex to pay one time.

I was not sure because I don't check each month. That was why I said "almost." I always pay within 10 days of the closing date.
