I'm sure it's been mentioned and buried but extended warranty benefit goes away next month which sucks
Uhh yeah I have an Amex, this is not true lol
I'm sure citi fought hard in the bidding process to beat Amex to get the Costco account. Part of the terms were probably to offer better benefits for the customer....

Personally, I don't think Costco has a written policy about blacklist a person. Before Costco updated the most recent return policy, especially on the electronics, you can technically buy any electronics and return it at any time. So that allows people to buy a TV for Thanksgiving/Christmas and then return it after New Year repeatedly. I believe that may have caused the red-flag in Costco's system because Costco is not making profit from the member but taking a financial hit item after item. So they finally decided to just refund the full membership and turn that person away. I can't prove or confirm this, but it sounds possible given that Amazon has done that. It's all about profit from the member. I can't see why a company would keep a specific member after taking financial hit item after item. For Costco, the blacklist probably haven't happened before, but I would not say it will "never" happen.
Actually I have heard of people buying TV's for the Superbowl and then returning them. That is pretty douchy in my opinion and I could see any retailer having a problem with that kind of abuse. In the case of my friend who abuses returns, he actually does far more exchanges than refunded returns. For example when new versions of something comes out (like the Keurig coffee maker). I'm not sure that's any better but I guess if Costco had a problem with it they would tell him to knock it off.

Partially be outsourcing customer service to India. AmEx keeps it all American.
Hat's off to your ignorance I have Amex card for last 10 years and I am using that same card to shop at Costco not Amex Costco card.
Amex among the first business to have their customer service in India.

The name is so misleading American express with noting American about it.
I have many friends in business and till recently no one used to accepts so called Amex because unlike other CC they used to charge ridiculous fee per transaction to business.
They used to rob American, very American card. ..

BTW our local Costco start accepting any Visa cards not just citi...and as per them from June 1st they won't be accepting any Amex card.

Completely agree. The guy arguing for Walmart is like trying to list the redeeming qualities of Darth Vadar. Walmart uses questionable business practices to maximize profits. They pay their employees as cheap as they can get them. I'm not a walmart hater but I definitely try not to shop there. Costco is the exact opposite. I choose to spend my money there as much as possible. They may not be the cheapest all the time, but they are the better company.
It's also a better shopping experience. I actually like going to Costco, I don't know why...but I haven't stepped inside a Walmart in years.

Using any Visa card applies to Costco gas as well right?

I have costco amex, and just had chat with AMEX, they said they can convert it to AMEX blue WITHOUT HARD PULL, so you can keep your amex. But she asked me to call customer service as she can't do it over chat.
I called Amex customer service yesterday, as I saw the pre-approval credit card application after I login to the Amex account page. The call was directed to a senior specialist. I was told that there will be a hard pull on my credit report, in order to get this pre-approved new card. That is the reason I rejected the offer.

My goodness,
you peeps here just don't an opportunity slip to criticise people. I've explained in the thread already sent I had thought it was all American. Before creating a nice comeback, read the rest of the thread.

I guess I've been getting lucky. I always got domestic rep from Amex and never with Citi unless something gets escalated. maybe it's just my luck then or maybe the particular card. I have Premier Rewards card from Amex. It does carry a hefty $200 annual fee.
It has to do with the card.

I have the citi prestige with the $450 annual fee. I always get a domestic rep as well.

I actually call the same number when I have an issue with any of my other citi cards. Great service when you pay up the butt for things.

Odd question, but anyone that currently has an AMEX card and have used it at the Food Court, are the food court registers coded as a 'Restaurant' on your statement?

Yeah, this is definitely not true. I have a coworker that used to work for Amex in Phoenix, whose job (and most of his former coworkers) was outsourced to India. I know because he won't shut up about it.

Agree 100%. costco by going out of amex network is trying to save 1% or less margin but in return customers are going to get bad service from card issuer. Visa is loose as a goose! every täm ˈdik and ˈharē issues visa cards! there is nothing good about it.
