I'm sure it's been mentioned and buried but extended warranty benefit goes away next month which sucks
Uhh yeah I have an Amex, this is not true lol
I'm sure citi fought hard in the bidding process to beat Amex to get the Costco account. Part of the terms were probably to offer better benefits for the customer....

I don't have a costco amex, but i am costco executive member, will I still get the Costco CITI card or do I need to apply for one?
You will need to apply for one. All executive members have had to apply for a Costco card.

AMEX has sent details to all cardholders in the past week. Doesn't anybody read their mail?

the main reason i always used my amex true earnings card for car rentals when traveling is because it provides more coverage than most other cards... especially the rental company's possible "loss of use" charges. i did not find much details in the OP's posted link, but I'm curious how the citi card compares in this regard...

Looks like this card is only good for Costco purchases and dine out.

Brilliant, Citi, just brilliant.

It probably depends on how the station is coded when the transaction is processed. If it shows up on your statement as a Supermarket/Grocery/Convenience Store, yeah no earnings there. But if the station is coded as a 'service station' or 'Automated Fuel Dispenser', you should be fine.
(Example: I currently have a card that gets me 5% on groceries. I discovered that Walmart is coded as a Grocery Store/Supermarket, so anything I buy at Walmart nets me 5% back.)

lol, no this $0 annual fee card doesn't come with a free Costco membership... You get the card as a benefit of being a paid Costco member...

Warning! Look at the Citi offer carefully.

For the 4% on gas, note that non-qualifying includes "supermarkets, convenience stores"

That's basically every gas station in my area. If your Costco sells gas, you are good. Mine doesn't.
Mine nearest Costco is 6 miles away and takes about 15 minutes without traffic. I only go there probably once very 1 - 1.5 months. So I don't usually getting gas there.

I guess you just have to try each location and check your statement and find which one works and which one doesn't.

I would take that to mean that purchases inside the convenience stores are not qualifying, but I would sure hope the gas from their pumps does qualify.

It will be called "Costco Anywhere Visa Card by Citi" (that's a mouthful).

For those who already have Costco Amex, they will mail out the replacement cards starting in May 2016, but you cannot use it until June 20, 2016.

A lot better benefits:

4% cash back on eligible gas worldwide, including gas at Costco, for the first $7,000 per year and then 1% thereafter (Costco Amex is 3%)
3% cash back on restaurant and eligible travel purchases worldwide (Costco Amex is 2%)
2% cash back on all other purchases from Costco and Costco.com (Costco Amex is 1%)
1% cash back on all other purchases
Hah.. I just noticed the cashback estimate sliders on that page default to $2500/mo in each category... or $120k/year total put on their card. Ridiculous.

$2500/mo on gas would require almost two fillups per day.. driving something like 25k miles per month. Or driving a round trip from Miami to Seattle every week. You'd have to spend roughly 12 hours per day driving in order to hit that amount.

You're not aspiring high enough! If you spend $5000/mo in each category, or $240k/year you get $4,410. We gotta drive from Alaska to Miami! Twice a week!!

Hah.. the gas reward drops off after $7000/yr or only $583/mo. You could hit that with just one cross country road trip each month. After that you're only getting 1% back so it's just not worth your time.

But seriously, to hit $5000/mo in gas, you'd basically have to be driving 24/7.

(Or have lots of vehicles/drivers, I guess.)

Except costco.com is not on the list of warehouse merchants for Chase Freedom (only SAMs and BJS are) so it's unclear if you'll get 5% for that or not right now.

I expect some folks are making a tiny purchase today to find out though.
