I'm sure it's been mentioned and buried but extended warranty benefit goes away next month which sucks
Uhh yeah I have an Amex, this is not true lol
I'm sure citi fought hard in the bidding process to beat Amex to get the Costco account. Part of the terms were probably to offer better benefits for the customer....

ok thanks, I'm assuming balance will not carry over?
The balance carries over to the Citibank. You reward cash also carries over. The transition is supposed to be relatively seamless, where you are just using a different card (much like when you get sent a replacement for fraud incidents), except for the fact that you have to setup a Citi account.
Any guidance on keeping the Amex card, say for shoprunner and such uses, other than applying a new one?
The AmEx Costco card will cease to exist. You'll have to apply for a new AmEx card if you want to continue being an AmEx customer. They'll be more than happy to do that for you, likely offering the Blue Cash Everyday card.

do you know if Amex account will be closed automatically after the transition?

Do I need to cancel my Costco card from American Express before I can start using my new Costco Anywhere Visa® Card by Citi on June 20, 2016?
No. Please don't cancel your Costco card from American Express. It will be canceled automatically on June 20, 2016. You can destroy your Costco card from American Express at that time.
do you know if Amex account will be closed automatically after the transition?
Yes, that was confirmed with another notification letter from Amex several months ago, that unfortunately the Costco CC be closed during the transition, but me have access to all other excellent Amex products.
Btw. Macy's has Amex CC, and it seems free annual membership.

So I bit on the the Blue Card Offer. 300$ back after 1k spending in 3 months. I talked with the rep and she indicated that they are proactively offering this to Costco customers now. Its not a hard credit pull and is supposed to match exactly what your existing card has. Pretty much they are now trying to present an offer to keep customers, even if the offers aren't all that great. She said the existing Costco Amex will just roll over to Citi with any balance on it. So pretty much a clean slate on an Amex card that mimics the existing one. If you are looking for specials there are better offers out there, If you are just looking to keep an Amex in the wallet, then its not a bad deal.
Does the new Business Visa offer any additional advantages over the standard card ? In the past Amex business offered 4% gas back instead of the usual 3% with Amex standard
Yea...I'm sure if I had waited it would likely have gone up. I also found out that you can't do amex to amex transfers, so it negates the 0% for 15 months balance transfer unless you play the card shuffle game. For that fact alone I would have waited until closer to the June 20th cutover.
Any guidance on keeping the Amex card, say for shoprunner and such uses, other than applying a new one?
I had been getting every offer Amex has for other cards in last couple of months as this card will cease to be. I am sure if you call Amex they will gladly replace but you will need to reapply.
