Do these toaster oven air fryers work better than the typical air fryers with the basket that you pull out? Seems those would be easier to clean.

It looks like there is no way to disable the beeping sounds that people frequently seem to mention?

Anyone knows how this compares to the insignia oven / toaster that's often on sale at the same price?

I cannot understand how somebody would complain about a beep sound when you press a button. It does the same thing when I use my microwave. Neither the microwave beeping nor this air fryer oven beeping (I have one) is bothersome at all to me.

It's one of the things that stood out to me before I purchased mine - the many people complaining in reviews about the beeping. I just don't get it.

It's not necessarily the button press beeps that are the issue, it's that it beeps every time you turn the temperature knob, on 5 degree intervals. So if you up the temp by 100 degrees, that's 20 beeps. Not the end of the world, but kind of annoyance that they should really let you disable.

I still can't imagine being that irritated by it. You only have to hear it for the two or three seconds it takes to turn the knob to the desired temperature. It's not like it's beeping the whole time it's cooking. Good Lord.

They're very similar in specs and features. The Insignia is almost an inch wider on the interior, which might matter depending on the pans you want to use.

IF you ever do see the Insignia come back on sale for $60-ish, Please message me.

Is the interior free of any chemical coating? They all say stainless but all with deadly Teflon

Teflon is no longer manufactured with PFOE. It is now a safe, non toxic, coating. Even if scratched, it doesn't give off toxic chemicals when heated and any flakes are inert and non toxic to consume.

You may still want to dispise of newer Teflon pots and pans if scratched because the scratches cause uneven heating that can impact the quality of your cooking.

In this case, the Teflon coating is not used on the cooking surface. It would also be extremely difficult to scratch.

Imagine the beeps waking up the dogs, the baby and then the wife.

So, your little midnight snack turns into a 20 minute dog walk, 20 minutes to put baby back to sleep and 20 minutes listening to the wife bitch and complain about all the noise.

For air frying the basket is MUCH more effective. Consider this an upgrade to your toaster oven. Often I'm using both at the same time.

Bought this from Target last Black Friday. Do not regret. Has worked great. Especially for the price.

I guess if you're in a situation where the beeping of a small appliance is going to result in a cascade of problems as you described, then this nice air fryer oven is definitely not for you.

They work as well as them but offer much greater utility. It can replace an air fryer and a toaster oven. We've had a different brand but same style for over 5 years and it's our go to appliance, from fries to mini pizzas, reheating items that require crisping, even light baking
