This one (Z1 Extreme) is the one to get. Don't get me wrong, the base Z1 seems superb compared to Steam Deck's comparable 512GB version, but damn, the Z1 Extreme is hitting 1080p/120fps in games like Forza and 60fps in RDR2, craziness.

Usually the first batch of YouTube reviews would tend to praise a product at launch as those are from privileged reviewers who receive a free unit from the marketing department of a vendor. I'm waiting for real end user reviews to see if I'd get one myself or invest in upgrading the 64GB SSD on my Steam Deck. If the Ally had a touchpad and ran Steam OS it would be closer to a perfect handheld gaming device, though today's battery tech would still cause concerns to some but it's the same issue no matter which device you pick.

Battery life seems worrisome from what i seen in the reviews. Even so i just sold my steam deck 256gb yesterday for $500 to buy this

Only up to 2hrs in gaming battery life. This will hold back the handheld severely. Will have to also pack an external battery.

Pre-ordered this morning, but will make my decision when more reviews are out. The Steam Deck has been great, but not being able to play all the games I want (like Destiny or maybe even Diablo) has made it less attractive to me.
