Happy with my purchase from the last $999 deal on here. Even with the same fairly small speakers and a 5.1 setup, it has more power, bass, and better positioning/presence for surround sound than my previous Yamaha receiver did. Enjoying it a lot!

I agree, if you don't need the extra internal power of the 4800(20 watts) or use external amps this is probably the better buy IMO.

If you are looking to use Dirac the $400 can be used to get Dirac Live on this and pretty much have the same sound/performance IMO.

One of my favorite purchases ever. I was just thinking today about how this was the asking price for a 3700 within the past year, and now you're able to get the latest and greatest brand new for under a grand.

6700 at its current sale price is very much worth considering also though

Nice - considering upgrading from my yammy 7850 as well but trying to decide if it's justified.

What Yamaha did you upgrade from, and what speakers are you driving?

Have this AVR. Paid $1199 in the Spring. Excellent AVR. Using a cheap 2 channel class D amp to drive 2 speakers to run a 7.2.4 setup. Sound is excellent.

If you have no preference on brand, it comes down to your priorities on features you want/need.

Here is a comparison that should help decide.

What is AV RECEIVER? ADULT VIDEO?
Yes this is a grownup post/thread, nothing for you to see here.

For kids/toy section,try looking for Samsung/Nakamichi/Sonos/etc post/threads! 👍🏻

Yes, you will get all adult channels for the one time payment of $999. Worth it for a lifetime subscription

I upgraded from the 7850. The room correction is a bit easier to use and sounds slightly better (I think). However I don't notice any other real difference. A decent phone app for the receiver and a paid one for the room correction are really cool, but, once you set the room correction you don't use it again

I have KEF Q150s (5x) and a PB2000 in a 5.1 setup
