It used to be you could rely on these being fine out the box, but those days are long gone it seems. I bought two off Amazon to replace old 360 controllers that were just worn down after lots of years of use. One was good, the other had a cosmetic defect where the shell is not seated above the battery, or a clip is broken. Amazon sent me a replacement for the cosmetic one and it had a sticky A button and drift on the left stick. You can't replace twice, just return, so I decided to make a claim on the good purchase with those issues. The replacement controller had a sticky B and A button. It was wild too, the B button would be hard to press, but then be fine for a few more presses then be hard to press again. Since both were replaced my only option was to return. Major pain in the butt and I know it's why others on here will only buy them from retail so they can test in store and return immediately if it's bad. There are some posts on here about going through 4 controllers just to get a good one. I bet the other three were sold as open box new on eBay and such.

2-year plan is $3
3-year plan is $5 (should be less than $4.5 since 2-y is $3, IMO)
