I bought the DF64 grinder as a dedicated grinder. Imo you get a much better espresso shot if you do separates. The Bambino Plus + a Eureka Mignon or a DF64 (or any popular grinder) would be the better way to go.

The Express was a great introduction to espresso to make sure I'd like it before spending more money.
I ultimately decided to upgrade because of the inconsistencies I'd experience with the express, and I wanted separate boilers and a PID. I ended up replacing the pump and there were still times where I'd barely get any water. This wasn't because of grinding too fine, we had one type of bean we used consistently and the grind setting never changed. The next thing would have been the solenoid but I already had the itch to upgrade.
I sold the express for $350 locally on Marketplace, nearly making back what I'd paid for it a year ago.
