It means the compressor won't work in areas where the ambient temperature has extremes.

In the winter, the temperature differential might not be enough to keep the food cold. In the summer, the compressor can get overworked due to being too warm, which also results in it not cooling enough.

Generally speaking, modern fridges and chest freezers that aren't garage ready should never be used in the garage.

The only reason older fridges seemed to survive is because they used different coolant and insulating materials. When used improperly, they may not have died a sudden death like the new ones, but they definitely put a bigger dent in your electric bill.
I have it and it is worth even its normal price. Read the reviews before buying it! Shipping seemed to be a bad way to go, so I used SD to find a Walmart with one in stock and made the effort to go pick it up myself 40 minutes away. A 7.5 Cu ft fridge is small enough for 1 strong person to 2 average people to pick up on their own.

The fridge is well built and not noisy. More skinny than most other ones its size, but I like it since the height is slightly taller because of it.

Bought this in November 2023 for the same price. Works just fine as a second fridge. A little smaller than I thought (I wasn't sure what the stated measurement looked like in person) but overall for the price great purchase and would buy again.

On the last thread people complained about shipping. All I can say is for myself everything was fine. No damage on the box or unit.

I got one of those at this price and as others have mentioned, there are many reviews that complain of damage. Thankfully mine arrived in flawless condition (seems like luck of the draw). Easily maneuvered it into my basement. Fits a good amount of food/drink. My only issue is condensation in the back of the fridge but it's not excessive. This is also NOT garage ready.

! Warning ⚠️ !

They arrive damaged with visible dents or worse. Go read the reviews.

Costumer service isn't too helpful, the will ask you to haul your return so most people settle with a 10% discount and keep the damaged fridge. (Which isn't good by the way as it keeps a lot of humidity inside and water is running in the inner panels)

This "deal" it's been posted 4-5 times so far, it seems like there is still a bad batch to get rid of at this price.

I bought this last go around. Unfortunately, it came dented. The fridge itself is fine; no complaints. Wally gave me 20 bucks to keep it. To replace it, I would have had to bring it back to a store. It was a garage fridge so I just kept it.

What does it mean to be "not garage ready"?

Expect dents. Also frozen water froplets collect on back wall of fridge portion. Also I had mine set at level 3 and it froze my vegetables and milk
