Has no dedicated wireless backhaul channel. Paperwork claims 6ghz is the backhaul channel, but it also serves clients, so it's a single antenna splitting roles. You can expect to see some throughput losses versus a router with dedicated backhaul. Best used with wired backhaul if you want full use of wifi 6e features... That's why you would buy this I would imagine.
How big is your network? I've got the XT8 with ~105 devices and no issues.

Already have CT8 running wireless backhaul. Do I understand correctly that for me only difference would be 6ghz on the backhaul and Wifi6 on the front end?

How will this work compared to older orbi pro model about 5 years old currently running wireless backhaul? I am very happy with indoor performance but outside it's spotty…

House is approximately 3300 sq ft.

Outside performance is going to depend on how your walls are built. I had the wifi 6 model and at the front of the house wifi was excellent, even next door neighbor got it on their house that was closer to ours. But the backyard, where we had guest, total shitshow. I'm unsure why, makes no sense.

Does anyone have this and knows what the throughput is when using the internet security? I love my Asus RT-AX82U and the user interface and features but I have 1 gig service and with the internet security on it only passes around 350-370 megs through. Although that is better then the Eero the cable company provides with its security turned on but I would like to experience the full gig service.

I was facing the same issue recently and it's NAT acceleration that's the problem. You might want to try pfsense. AFAIK all of these consumer devices need NAT acceleration to perform at the speeds you're looking for which means limited features. This might help explain.

Could you add these to a network with 2x wired ET12 pro? Maybe even wireless?

Im getting around 800 over 6e with the security on.

Happy with this unit but I also have a wired back haul.

Had these since launch and I've been happy with them. Only fluke I've had was back in April of last year when Asus accidentally pushed a bad definition update to all Asus Wifi routers (irregardless of model) to spontaneously go into a boot loop.

I use the 6GHz backhaul, its way better than using 5GHz since you won't run into radio congestion issues with 6E since not that many people have 6E systems yet.

I went with this one instead. $50 cheaper and great reviews. Haven't set it up yet. Coming from nest WiFi which is crap now that I have teens, lots of devices and cameras on the network.

Really tempted... My current setup is several years old running on the T-Mobile 68U routers and Merlin. But, I already run wired backhaul. And I think the only devices we have that can use WiFi 6 are our two phones, whatever can be wired is wired (laptops, desktops, PS4, Roku, etc.), the 68U says it has WiFi 5, and not sure if it's worth the upgrade, yet.

I have 3 in my house using wired backhaul but when I try to use the 6ghz on my iPhone 15, it says not all functions available or something like that.
Is there something I need to adjust on the settings?
