I do not recommend these. I have 4 spread around my house and they tend to drop connections. I checked to see if there was a Merlin firmware and unless I overlooked it, there is none. I only stick to this because it has a separate 2.4 channel that myq garage connects to. I used to have orbi and to link but they won't let me separate the channels.

This model is listed if you scroll down. I've been using the GNUton with my XT8 for nearly 2 years no issues. Maybe this firmware will work better.

These work okay. As access points they are solid. As routers not so great although I haven't have to reset it manually in a while. I do have the routers automatically reboot once a week.

I have some at work and at home with stock ASUS firmware (as APs and as mesh routers). The one setup as a mesh router at work and home needs to be rebooted every few months although lately I haven't. Maybe the firmware got more stable?
I've never had to rest the ones set as APs.

I'm maturing into a seperate OPNsense or PFsense firewall and have to flash these with openwrt or similar so i can still take advantage of a guest Wifi/VLAN. That's the only way I can have guest Wifi with a separate firewall/router.

I bought the ones for work new and the ones at home used from Amazon warehouse. I think it was $170 or $150 for two depending on condition.

I had these in my old house for over a year. They are maddening. When they worked, the speed was superb. But always, there would be disconnects due to satellite loosing connections. If I recall, it was caused by firmware updates. Too bad, they had 2.5 gigabit ports too.
