This is a good starting set that will cover a lot of things. Helped me when I was particular broke trying to get my 2001 corolla to keep moving without spending too much money. Didn't understand much about fixing on cars but this set let me blunder through it and had what I needed for every bolt, even though I didn't even know the actual difference between 1/4, 3/8/ and 1/2 ratchets.
Those were the days.

Great deal! I've got one in each of my four vehicles. Used many times to fix vehicles and trailers.

$99 is the standard sale price for these 200+-piece tool sets from the "value" brands (Craftsman, Husky, Kobalt, HART, Pittsburgh, Dewalt). Guaranteed you'll see all of them at this price for the upcoming holiday sales -- likely even less with cashback. So unless you need it today, make sure to take a look at what's included in the sets (not just the piece count) to make sure it's the set that meets your needs. They each have different "filler" pieces. They each skip different socket sizes. Some have more wrenches. Some have more sockets. Some have more allen keys. Craftsman has put out a bunch of variations on this set so make sure it's the one you want.

I'm not a mechanic, but it seems you'd only need one of these giant sets with the full range of 1/4", 3/8", and 1/2" ratchets and sockets if you work on cars, but if that's the case then why would some of these sets not include a spark plug socket? This guy prefers Craftman's "smaller" 216-piece set [youtu.be] over this one.

Thank you OP, finally I bought one. I can get rid of all the clutter now and keep everything in place, I will give my old wrenches to my brothers if they want them. Smilie

The smaller one is $200 vs this at $100.

Those top flip cover mounted ones may actually fall out of place if you keep this in the car, but it also looks like a nice set, I prefer the drawers of Craftsman.
I know most of these come with a mat on top between the top lid and bottom to prevent things from moving but I still prefer all drawers. I also think Craftsman has system where you can upgrade this with more things like tool box, etc on top/bottom but not sure of the expansion options these days.

Can someone check if either has anything other might be missing?

This is a great price for majority of the sockets most people need but I am surprised it does not include longer extension, that's the only bummer and I think way too many tiny wrenches and allen ranches that keeps the number of "pieces" high.

$87.96 with $15 promotional credit applied. Nice. These versa-stack drawers are nice and come in different sizes but DeWalt sells the identical cases (TSTAK) that are generally cheaper. (yellow instead of red)

Also remember mine from 20 years ago costing me $200 or $250 from Sears. Guess this is an example of an item where deflation is the name of the game for a change.

This is a pretty basic set at a pretty basic price. Probably pretty interchangeable with the many other sets that go on sale for $99 from Husky, Kobalt, etc.

One might consider this if you're already into the Craftsman Versastack or DeWalt Tatak systems.

They are clearly competing with each other in the most-pieces-for-$99 category. If you search on YouTube, there are a few people who've done side-by-side comparisons of these specifically and of Kobalt vs Craftsman ratchets and sockets generally.

My general conclusion is that Kobalt has the better quality/warranty these days, and I believe the Kobalt ratchets are 90-tooth 4-degree (nice!) vs Craftsman's 72-tooth 5-degree. But the Kobalt case/chest generally draws complaints for poor quality (somebody mentioned the flip cover. I think Craftsman beats Kobalt on case quality and function.

For these sets in particular, they have very different components, so check what you need. The Kobalt has 94 sockets, 8 wrenches, and 36 bit driver sockets, which is nice. The Craftsman has 91 sockets, 21 wrenches, and what appears to be a lot fewer bit driver sockets.

Most sockets in both sets are 6-point but 36 of the Kobalt sockets are 12-point and I can't tell how many of the Craftsman sockets are 12-point.
