This Craftsman mechanics tool set is a greatt entry level kit to get started. This is at an all time low and has useful drawers unlike many other kits. If you're in the market for a kit this is good buy.

Is this better than the Kobalt deal from earlier this month? I was lucky to find that in stock but I don't know which brand is better in terms of quality or warranty, or I guess tool selection here seems to be about even.

It's been on sale here a few other times for $100 or $130.

Not a lot of feedback, but no complaints either.

I've had a Craftsman tool set in my car for ages. 20 to 25-ish years, I'd guess, I wouldn't be shocked if it were more (plastic grey case, I wonder if there is a date stamped on it).

It's kind of been my garage set since it's been in the car, but my car is now an Equinox, and when I've got the bike rack on the car (May until mid-October) it's a PITA to get to. So I feel like I need another set of some sort. This seems like it's not much more than the other deals I've seen over the past 6 months, but with a lot more in there.

Same price at Lowes if you prefer to pick up locally
I'm thinking of buying this from Lowe's. Any recommendations? https://www.lowes.com/pd/CRAFTSMA...5014463507

I've had this set for probably 3-4 years now and I've worked on multiple cars repairing things like, brakes, shocks, oil changes, batteries etc. Only complaint is that the ratchets aren't long enough so you will either need an impact or breaker bar but great entry level kit.

depending on your lowes, my lowes accepts any craftsman warranties and doesn't fuss over anything

the ratchets this set normally comes with are not the best quality and can jam, but the individual ones in a lowes that is marked the same is of higher quality and you can swap the ones that they come with if they break with the individual packaged ones

(think difference is set made in china, while the individual tools made in taiwan a.k.a. other china)

This set is quite skimpy compared to most others for a few bucks more. I personally love the hart set and was able to get it last year for 70 bucks. I'd recommend looking elsewhere if you want more large sockets especially.

Why does everyone say this? I know the 10mm is often used but I have four complete ratchet sets and have never lost a socket. This is a YouTube thing I'm sure

There's at $99 deal and a $149 deal with a few more pieces.. without me spending three hours trying to figure out the differences , are the extra parts in the $149 kit worth it and what are they ?

Yeah. I've never lost a 10mm. Most of the people who make a 10mm joke also haven't lost one. It's a very tired joke.
