If only it had 32gb or wasn't soldered on so it was upgradeable. 16gb is getting to be too little these days.

With my 3 monitor setup, and my normal set of apps open, I'm sitting at 22gb used at idle.

I don't think this laptop makes sense to buy for a stationary setup. It's thin/light with an OLED screen so mainly ideal for travel.

Even for Travel, 16gb is a bit tight. Looking at my son's current gaming laptop, just sitting idle it's using 12gb of ram (with all the various gaming chat apps running in the background).

I still think 32gb should be the base, or the ability to upgrade to 32gb. That will help future proof it for a few years.

I bought this one when it was at $1400 new and man it runs so freaking hot compared to the G14. I might give it another try since some people said using G-Helper helps lower the temps...

Second that, lets stop buying 16 Gig gaming laptops so companies actually begin putting atleast 24/32 Gigs of RAM in gaming laptops

Depends on your use case. 16GB is enough for gaming with Discord open. No other laptop with these specs at this price comes with all of the QoL "laptop" stuff like the OLED screen, amazing speakers, and a chassis that's thinner and lighter than a 16" MBP.

Though really, if you travel a lot, another $1-2k into a laptop that is future proof is not really that much money. I went with the 4090 version of this. I spend way more than my laptop costs monthly on hotels alone.

For anyone that ever plans on using their laptop mostly at home hooked to a monitor, I would never recommend something like this in the first place. Thin/light with great screen isn't really the priority there.

I like the idea of this laptop, but I've seen reviews that the fans can get a whiny pitch to them.. the bane (to me) of any gaming laptop. How has that experience been for you?

Third. 32GB gotta be bare minimum...but for multi-use, I'd prefer 64GB these days. I'm at about 55% RAM (35GB) as I'm typing this right now haha!

i have 16GB on gaming laptop, run both chrome and firefox (sometimes Edge as well) with hundreds of tab opened at the same time while stream movies and even play game. No issue that I noticed, am I missing something about having more RAM?

Your laptop might be exchanging data between your ram and your SSD.

Definitely not enough ram for it to not be upgradable. Looking at my work laptop w/ 32gb right now, it's idling with a few office apps open, and it's using 18.6GB of ram. 32gb should be the minimum.

People need to understand that if you give modern apps more RAM, they will use it. Doesn't necessarily mean all the apps need that much RAM to operate normally.
