This series is beautiful. I compared the 2024 G16 side by side with 2022 M16 trying to decide to keep the G16. The G16 OLED screen is beautiful, but the M16 screen was pretty close. I almost returned the G16 but then I created a more comprehensive list and the G16 won hands down.
G16 speakers are so good
G16 webcam night and day over the M16 and has IR
G16 in Turbo mode at Idle was 5db quieter and under load 2db quieter (use a phone app)
G16 Cinebench marginally higher, but Timespy CPU performance on par
G16 graphics not comparable (4080 vs 3070 Ti)
G16 Wifi speed a push
G16 Trackpad bigger
G16 Chassis Macbook like
I would say at this price with a 4070 this is great if you are not a cutting edge gamer. The 4070 variant would probably be louder than my comparison
