Good deal. I have one of these. I got it from Best Buy with free mounting. This is really big and heavy, so self installation is going to be a challenge for regular users.

Please be aware this is U8K series from last year. So any potential buyers should refer to U8K reviews not the U8N.
I'm going to use this as my new android phone. 📱
Note as JP said this is a 2023 U8 (100U8K) the 2024 100 is still not available (https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/hisense/u8-u8n vs https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/hisense/u8-u8k for 24 vs 23 to decide if you want to wait or not. This is a very good TV though for the $160 I'd add the 3 yr extended warranty...)

How much did you get the QM7 for? QM8 is more comparable to U8N series but it's more comparable than the U70/76 100 inch on sale at Costco QLED.

I got the 98 inch QM7 and so far loving it especially with Stremio RD pairing it with 9.2.4 soun bar.

I got the Hisense. For me I went with what my AV guy recommended and for $2,800 for a 100' Hisense isn't bad. Plus I get 2 year warranty with Best Buy with Total Care and 5% cash back

I have this.

It's fine to good for what it is. Don't expect anywhere even close to OLED PQ. But it's 100"! so it does give you immersion. Fairly good handling of blooming, and contrast is more than decent.

If you're a size queen and are looking for the biggest affordable panel (and can't do a projector), this is fantastic. If you can sacrifice on size a bit and are seeing best PQ, get 83" LG C4 or even better yet G4 that has MLA.

I honestly have some regret not getting the G4

Yours is the 100" U8K mini-led correct? I have a 75" U7K and also 2 LG OLEDs and was shocked how close the picture quality of the U7K is (relative to its cost), especially in bright rooms. Have been waiting for a 100" U8K deal but this is the first I've heard of less than stellar performance from it.

I've seen the U8K for $2800. If anyone interested in this set, wait for $2800 or cheaper especially BF around the corner

This. I question the previous comment about "anywhere even close to OLED picture quality." These TVs have come a LONG way recently.

Tv prices likey won't get much better till pre Super Bowl sale. Black Friday has become quite a fizzle the past several years

The black levels on the 8's are remarkable, so technically the panels are close in that respect BUT the processing (at least back with the U8H were significantly different - I briefly owned a 75" U8H, returned thanks to ded pixels I noticed)

While BF may be lackluster, there has been two deals 100" Hisense U70 and 98 TCL QM7 either lowest ever or match the lowest price. I'd wait if you aren't in a rush.

I have a 65" OLED in the bedroom so I can make the comparison.

Everything is blown up going from 75" to 100" (also we have two different types of panels but not the point) so everything becomes less sharp. PQ differences start becoming more apparent.

I've NEVER read a 100" U8k described as "stellar" on its own. It could be "stellar" only if you consider price as a big factor.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not hating on it. People just need to know what they're chasing - if it's size relative to price, this wins hands down …if it's PQ then it's not even close to OLED and anyone who says it is may be only watching low bitrate streaming content.

QM7 for $2500 is almost equal in picture quality from many user reviews.

It's equal because TLC makes all 98-100 inch screens for couple TV makers

10000000% if anyone says these tv's are as good as oled they have lost all credibility or just have no clue when it comes to PQ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have the U7 coming from Costco.. can someone help me sum up the main differences between the two besides the obvious mini-LED vs QLED. I don't do games on this, and use external sound system. So it's only used for watching TV and movies from various streaming sources. .

I'm in the same boat. So far, nothing has changed my mind on going for the QM7.

I have this TV. It's amazing. Great pic and even good built in speakers.
Bought first through amazon. they never would set a delivery date. never showed up. Ordered through best buy. Same deal. i finally told them to forget about the install and they suddenly were able to deliver it quickly. Said they had a 6 week backlog on "large installs"
If you can get the free install and they'll actually show up that is a great deal. This thing is very big and heavy.
