Lowes does not prorate the free gifts.I stand corrected!As of last month, online (including store pickup) orders are not prorated on the receipt. It turns out that in-store receipts now have free gifts prorated, based upon posts below.

- Router: $279 x $219 / ($279 + $219 + $219) = $85.22
- Jigsaw: $279 x $219 / ($279 + $219 + $219) = $85.22
So yes, $85 is on the mark.It requires the deal to be available in person.
but with home depot, you don't actually have to return anything. you can arrange bundle for pick up with items going to different stores. pick up the piece of the bundle you want at your store, then let the other item expire and get cancelled at some other store. can't do that with lowes

And yes, Home Depot you can get around a manager on their high horse by getting half shipped to another store, this requires a Lowe's employee to actually return your item.
