They were not forced. They straight out went to Mexico to try to undercut their long time partner so save money.

Loved at the end they got burned and we got lots more companies making this stuff.
Good thing you're not drinking this like Mountain Dew.
I had never heard of this brand. I read the reviews.
It is not a clone of the classic Huy Fong Rooster Sriracha.
It is a less spicy and slightly more sweeter take on Sriracha. Great for those that like sriracha but can't handle the heat.
I'm going to get a bottle to start introducing my kids to the general sriracha flavor while avoiding the complaints of the dish being too hot.

The price has really come down off of that high a few years back.

My local Asian market has an off-off-brand for 99c this week.

This is an off-brand. Ooh just noticed the extra "off" in your post. I kinda want to try it just for that reason lol.

These "off-brand" taste nothing like the Huy Fong sriracha btw. The underwood ranch one comes the closest imo.

The Tabasco brand has been my favorite alternative. I kind of like it better to be honest now that the Huy Fong is different than before

Hoy Fong is still very expensive near me. I have tried a few alternatives, a couple from dollar tree (that weren't very good), but this one is pretty similar to the original.

My son won't use any brand other than Huy Fong. I blame those high falutin northeast colleges that he went to.

Even the original Huy Fong Rooster doesn't taste as good as it used to since they are now getting their peppers from Mexico.

YEP... After a legal battle with Underwood Ranches, their long-time California pepper supplier, Huy Fong was forced to seek new sources, primarily in Mexico.

there are 95 servings in this bottle and each serving has 2g of sugar. that means there is 190 g of sugar total in this. that is almost the same amount of sugar as four 12 oz cans of Mountain dew soda. in other words the 20 oz bottle of this sauce has the same amount of sugar in it as four cans of soda. or in other words, ounce for ounce, this sauce has twice as much sugar in it than mountain dew soda. that's why I passed.
Good thing you're not drinking this like Mountain Dew.

Yep, they wanted to control the WHOLE operation on the production, including the growing of the peppers. I'm consistently seeing $3.99 for the Huy Fong Sriracha.
