I find one Tide pod to be too much detergent, how big are your washing machines that you require a double-sized tide pod to wash a load of laundry? Or is it that your washing machines are normally sized and your clothes are extraordinarily dirty?

Do people really use these? My washer instructions said to NOT use these but I see them everywhere. Or do people just disregard their instructions? Are these actually better than the ordinary High Efficiency jug of detergent from like Costco?

They work well in my washer, but the jug works fine too. I wouldn't use the XL ones though as the regular size works even with large and heavily dirty loads.

We honestly use the pods lately because with the jug people end up using too much detergent, the lines on the cap are far more that needed.

Costco has 104ct Tide pods for 20.99 on sale. Not the same variety but it's cheaper

Yeah, I don't get it.

If you *need* double the detergent then ok, 29¢ per load isn't awful.

For comparison, the Costco (near me anyway) in-store price for Tide Pods is $23.89 for 156 pods. (15.3¢ per pod/load) including the $6 off through the 20th.

Even with the massive "Americanized" front-load washers, you don't want this much detergent (XL) in a load. It will require an extra rinse cycle to get all the detergent out (most front loaders have a "suds sensor" to do add this automatically.)

So yeah, I agree as I don't get it either. Even if I had a huge top loader, I'd still opt for the Tide liquid HE (if I were married to the idea of using Tide-branded detergent, which I'm not) also on sale for $20 for 152 loads ($5 off - 13¢/load) and would adjust the amount of detergent as needed.

costco is more expensive & has less inventory to choose from than sams.

samsclub > all the rest

samsclub > all the rest

I've tried multiple products from both Costco's Kirkland brand and Sam's Member's Mark Brand. With rare exception, Kirkland is a much better brand of products.

Besides their own brands, I find myself wanting to buy more products at Costco than Sam's.

For me Costco Quality > Sam's Quantity
