I bought one of those stupid-cheap no-name chinese brushes last year.Philips should be worried. When my old Diamondclean finally dies, I'm not buying another $100 toothbrush.
Good luck with chinese forever chemicals in your mouth
I have an older HX6211/92 I bought for $40 that I was thinking of replacing with a 4100 for but it still works so not sure needed.
Bought in 2017: Philips Sonicare™ Series 2 Plaque Control Blue Rechargeable Electric Toothbrush - HX6211/92
I bought my kid a 4100 a few years ago and seems to work fine.
I only buy the legit Phillips heads and toothbrushes, but I've had the worst luck with their higher end devices. The middle tier that I buy cheaply from Costco last forever (minimum 3-4 years). I've had kids go off to college so I've had to buy newer ones the past few years, and whenever I've found a sale on a higher end unit I've jumped. This is the third so far that has died on me after a year where the metal tip is basically completely disconnected from the motor mechanism and does nothing.
To their credit, Phillips' warranty service is pretty good, but c'mon - how is the more expensive unit so unreliable?

Last time I bought this exact same model from Best buy, it only lasted a little over a year before it stopped vibrating. Took it apart to try and fix it but was no use. These things aren't being to last it seems despite the high price tag.

I could see that, if the motor mechanism wasn't basically the same. The failure point is at the motor. The rest of the features are accomplished using the electronics in the brush.

Absolutely same experience. Have 3 Diamondcleans that all just break after a year. These were separate purchases, not repair/warranty replacements. Then I got a 7000 series and it's been going strong.
I do miss the wireless charging base but it gets nasty.
