Looks like the current any % best for Shenmue 1 is 6hr 30min. I guess it's a thing?

Yea but speedrunning is its own breed. I used to be big into watching AGDQ. I remember one year watching a guy speedrunning castlevania symphony of the night blindfolded. Essentially could remember where he was based off back dashing, sounds, and the music. Was crazy
Well, sure, there's speed runs for every game.
But Shenmue isn't exactly known for being a quick burn. It has an in-game time system, after all.
