Came here to post this deal today but someone beat me to it! My husband just did some pretty exhaustive research on these and came to the conclusion that this is the one to buy. Given all the power outages due to weather, fire, etc. lately, we thought we should get one.

generally it not a good idea for sensitive equipment to use the surge rating as the voltage drops.

It's unlikely that the pump is pulling the full 20A, but yes, inrush current on pumps/motors can be pretty high.

In short, I wouldn't depend on it.
