i had one and returned it couple months later. was a bit of a process to return since this is not a normal Amazon return. i had to go drive to a lithium-safe Fedex station 30 mins away from me. this was like the huge fedex distribution center where their trucks dock in, not a normal fedex building in the city.

my issues: 1. once in a while the unit wouldn't charge via solar. had to disconnect solar input and put it back in. this alone was a deal breaker for me 2. the usage would not show on the display for low power items. it doesn't do it all the time but certain phones or tablets etc will show zero power usage even when plugged in. Anker told me it won't show for anything under 15w and I showed them through video that that's not right because I can sometimes get a reading under 15w. they either don't know their product or something is wrong with mine. 3. also had other odd behavior like the charge reading from solar being way off although this happened maybe only 5 times out of 4 months. 4. certain appliances at certain times don't play nice with this unit. for example i used my Anker with a small window ac that draws 350w. once in a while for some reason it won't power it. i have to disconnect and reconnect. this anker should be good for 1000w so 350w should be no problem.

mine was still working when i returned it but i didn't have much faith that it would be good for another 5 years of use. it already showed me in the first couple months some unexpected behavior that lead me to take some vids of it, show it to Anker, and get the approval to return it.
This is also not some cheap unbranded unit like you can find by the dozens on almost any site. Anker is known for their battery and charger tech, INCLUDING safety features.
Not everyone has the knowhow, time, tools, or resources to build their own, hence why these exist. I live very rurally, and our power goes out on occasion. Something like this allows me to still use my internet, PC, tv, etc for a good while instead of just sitting in the dark. I can't exactly put our gas generator in my room..

The DJI 1000 was recently $379. And before $249! Comparable unit, with a better manufacturer / warranty? Still waiting for a DJI at close to the lowest price seen.

That's the problem I have with about any of these products. I actually built my unit. Just the solar charge controller was $75. I have more faith in their lipo battery than all the other components around it.

This stuff is serious money for the limited use it would likely get. It's not like some $2 lithium bms from Alliexpress. I use my unit everyday for solar and charging phones, power bricks, various batteries etc. It has Japanese cells from a e-car.

These prefabs would make me paranoid. When is error 06 going to come up or something else? What corners were cut?

I'm kicking myself for not getting the DJI since I think it can do peak 2400W and 2200W sustained. Really it's been $249 before??

$249 isn't showing in a search on here. Not saying it didn't happen though.

Serious question if I have a single 20 amp breaker that's powering several outlets in my garage can I connect this somehow to that so that in the event of a power outage I can drop a transfer switch or something and power off the battery? Or is it better just to put the battery in the garage and run an extension cord to the devices that I want backed up? Also assuming this can behave like a UPS.

My C1000 has been working since i bought it mid summer. I have it connected to 2 Renogy 100w panels, and it does all of the charging to all my rechargeable devices. I also have a battery charger/tender connected to it for my car as well. The only problem I've had was it would occasionally drop off the network, but restarting it seem to fix it. I will probably add another panel to find more things to power with it.

That was my concern, as well. I bought it anyway because of the DOA arrival clause from Amazon:
Quote :
Non-returnable. Transportation of this item is subject to hazardous materials regulation
This item is non-returnable because of transportation regulation, but if the item arrives damaged or defective, you may request a refund or replacement through Your Orders by providing an image of the item and its defects.
... and because reseller ratings for Anker Direct [amazon.com] (the seller/shipper) are excellent. Of course, I really hope I don't need to test their service, though.

honestly probably easier and preferred to just find a station for it and get a good extension or two. it will power devices in the event of an emergency, and will provide clean power, but it's not going to function like a UPS that actually conditions your commercial power or anything. i don't see a reason to overcomplicate it's function unless you yourself are an electrician and want to perform the work.
