For the alcohol, what strength do you use? 70%?
I can personally attest that it doesn't work as well, but it's much cheaper to make and can still be dispensed through the sprayer nozzles. I'm always experimenting but I think the magic is in the process moreso than the ingredients.
This is the at home version of the various chemicals/ingredients used in the in plant manufacturing process. Been using this recipe for years and it hits the mark for our cleaning needs

Yes, 70%. Used 91% a few times and the smell was too harsh for us
Two items to note (just in case 🙂):
1. We had same initial experience. It sucked. But then I started using warm water and making sure I used a very liberal four tablespoons of the soap. Could even try a fifth. It made a difference and thickened the spray
2. I made sure to mix everything together, when ingredients all in measuring cup, before I poured it back in the spray bottle. This also (very surprisingly) made a difference for us.
YMMV - after experimenting a few small changes, we got something that works and saves us $$$ on this stuff

You used the word "liberal". Make sure ya dont trigger people! Lol 😆
The alcohol is optional and really just used to keep the bottle spray nozzle from clogging up. If you don't use alcohol, you can unclog by running under warm tap water.
