I have been using this exact model since December 2018, over 6 years ago. I air-fry in it regularly, at least 1 to 3 times per week. To keep oil, juices, and other liquids from dripping to the bottom, simply put a piece of aluminum foil or pan on the rack, which would be under the air-frying mesh basket and above the bottom of the applicance. Cleanup then is super easy, and you can even reuse the same aluminum foil sheet.

This is among my favorite kitchen products, and that's coming from someone who has a fully-loaded kitchen (e.g., high-end appliances and products like Vitamix blender, Jura espresso machine, Zojirushi bread maker and water boiler, Breville food processor, All-Clad pots and pans, Bosch dishwasher).

I hope this helps,
Tofu Vic

I dont have this but I have a ninja that is basically the same thing. From my experience, I would not use these types of appliances for air frying. The oil/juices get all over the place and especially on the heating element. It is a bitch to clean that stuff off, especially at the top underside of the oven. Love these types of applicances for all the other options but do yourself a favor and get a seperate air fryer

Edit: Thanks for all the replies however I am not talking about the bottom of the oven/fryer. I use silicon for that and have no issues. I am mostly talking about the inner top side, which has a heating element also. That is the part that is very hard to clean after air frying. Also, there is now way to really protect the inner topside like what can be done with the bottom.

I have this and love it and use it as my regular oven but also have a regular air fryer. Always wanted to try the Ninja version because we have a bunch of ninja appliances too.

I've got the ninja fold up one and was happy for about a year, especially pizzas. Now it's having issues randomly turning off and on. Probably just something in the control panel that needs to be cleaned or something. I'll never know since taking it apart to even look requires basically tearing it to pieces. Found a slew of reviews saying things around that with a year or so on the clock. So, no more ninja for me. If you do get one, good luck! But to be honest, you sell that many things you're bound to have a few bad ones, and of course one bad one generates dozens of bad reviews......

thanks, good to know. I've had the breville since it came out so probably like 6+ years and use it a few times a week so the longevity is great on this model. Might as well stick with it. Ninja products are hit and miss imo.

$300 seems steep. I have the Cusinart CTOA-122 which has knobs instead of a digital display but its the best I've ever owned and was only $99

Fans on them sucks. After around a year, they start making noise due to bearings going bad on them. The oven is not repairable, so i tried to take it apart, and it was a mess. Owned 2 of them, switched to ninja and no issues. They programmed their units to run fan after using them to cool it down for prolong it's life

If possible, can you please share a picture of the aluminum foil placement? Thank you.

The manual says not to use foil. It's a fire hazard. Silicone is safer, or a pan underneath.
Something that is made for oven use.

For those who own this - are the dimensions accurate? Would love to fit one into my small apartment kitchen but it seems enormous!!

That can be nice but I've found the bigger, mini oven style of these with air fryer ability can handle more with more surface. We have the Ninja model that can rotate up to save counter area, which is something we value (don't have a ton of extra space for this plus a dedicated air fryer). You are right they are a PITA to clean and they aren't built to be fixed or have parts replaced.

I use regular air fryers, better suited to purpose. I tried air frying in my BOV900 and it caused the door mechanism to warp enough to stick shut. Bent it some to get open, and now door won't fully shut. Haven't tried air fry in it since. But love this oven for everything else.
