This is a good deal, to get this one for $200 you will need to wait until Black Friday. My only cons will be only 250 Nits, will be hard to use it outdoor.
Honestly you could do a lot worse for $250. 1215U is a decent and well-rounded chip for a bargain basement device, even for playing old games. 512GB is not bad. And 120Hz screen is ... unusual for this price range. 8GB is serviceable but you should be able to upgrade the RAM yourself to 16GB for like $15.
What about the hinges breaking? Did they fix that problem?
I had this issue with my Inspiron 15 TGL 3000, 3511. I didn't even use it very much before the hinges broke. I'd need confirmation that the hinge issues have been resolved from multiple sources before buying Dell again.
This is the cheapest for anyone trying to get a decent low end laptop.
If you use the 10% coupon, with tax it will get you to around $240 and then throw in the dell wireless mouse for $13.50 to get over $250 and use the Amex offer for $50 back on a $250 purchase. You will be getting laptop and wireless mouse for a round $190 before tax, a really solid deal.
If this laptop had a backlight keyboard and USB-C, it would be perfect. I have it, and I upgraded the RAM — now it's ideal for light work and everyday use!
