For those who only want cash, not points:

$1000 cash back less:
- $95 annual fee
- $50-100 opportunity cost for spending $5000 on a card that only gives 1%cb when you could have gotten 2-3%cb.

Still over $800 tax-free profit. Not bad at all.

Considering it. I have one more application before I hit chase 5/24, then wait for a boosted amex gold or platinum bonus.

Any 0% apr period on this?

Will they treat a tax payment at pay1040 as a cash advance? Most credit card vendors treat it as a purchase.

The offer is supposed to be available online starting 04/03.

Nope- you can only have 1 sapphire (of any type) open at once, and can't get a sapphire bonus at all if you received one in the last 48 months.

Current referral links are still only offering 60k--- rumors on reddit that 100k referrals for individuals will be live next week (8th was what I read)

How does the referral work? My wife has Chase cards in her name, regular Sapphire and Freedom cards. Can she refer me to apply for this Sapphire Preferred or no? Does she need to already have the Sapphire Preferred to refer me to apply for it?

Just applied online and got denied with message saying I will be getting written response in 7-10 days. Tried calling recon line and getting same automated message and no live person access. Have good credit and last CSP card was more than two years and did not open more than specific cards in last year or two. 😞

You are probably within the 48 month window.

Instead...do the CHASE UNITED BUSINESS 125k Offer ($150 annual fee). That's pretty good too.

Then before the 2nd year annual fee hits I can then downgrade CSP to another Freedom Unlimited or Freedom Flex? Is it OK to have two of the same product at the same time?

Paypal may not be accepted at all counties for property tax payments .

First I suggest you download a free credit report from one of the three credit bureaus - I did it for Transunion to make sure that there hasn't been any false credit cards opened for someone else. Then, I found a Chase Fraud alert phone number on their website. I called them up, told them that I had checked our credit on Transunion and there was no problem. The security CSR then went off the phone for a couple of minutes and told me that the application had been approved with 7-10 day delivery. I next called Chase Credit Card services who looked up my application and arranged for expedited delivery. It is coming tomorrow - two days later. You need to make this request immediately so that they haven't started processing the shipping.
