This might be a dumb question, but does this mean it will only be available in-warehouse starting 4/9? So if I went that day, I'd have a good chance at grabbing one or two of these units for this price?

Read some reviews. People still complain of mold and it's not the easiest to disassemble. Real pain to clean the blower wheel as it's like 2ft long.

No, it means the discount will start on 4/9. You might find them in the warehouses before that. If you buy one before 4/9, you could go back and ask for a price adjustment on or after 4/9.

The 8k BTU variant is Wirecutter's top pick for a window air conditioner. I have this 12k BTU model, and I rather like it - it's quiet, and it keeps the space at a steady temperature. While installing it properly is annoying, the upside is that it comes with a mounting bracket and some pretty decent insulation, so it's going to have a much tighter fit than most other window air conditioners.

I have this. I am not sure what to expect from $280 A/C, it's definitely not BMW but it has been running for three years. The app works, it cools down, and it fits my window... can't complain.

Bought a couple years ago. It's a great AC, super quiet…. But yeah, VERY hard to clean the fan. It gets really dirty in there and yet they made it almost impossible to access it. My fan got so clogged up, airflow was barely getting thru. Would be a perfect AC if they'd only make it easier to clean that fan.

This will be 4th season, and I simply maintain clean filter and been fine. What environment are you using it in that the blower fan is becoming that dirty so much so it reduces airflow?

How many people actually do that? Just curious.

I can attribute to the mold issue. Mine lasted two seasons, but I didn't realize I'd have to maintain it other than cleaning the filter, etc. I just bought the newer 8k model with Matter connectivity since I believe the 12k was oversized for my bedroom (got it on sale 2 years ago at Costco). Once I get the 12k swapped out with the 8k, I'm going to try and disassemble the 12k, clean it, and move it to the garage for use.

Great AC units. 4 scattered around the house have taken the place of our central AC in South Florida. Yes, nasty mold does form easily on the fan. I permanently removed the black wire grate behind the louvers to make accessing the cylinder fan easier. Bottle brush with a 1/2" diameter x 4" long brush fits between the fan blades to dislodge the gunk that forms. Then it gets rinsed down to the exterior side of unit. Final rinse with outside case removed finishes it up.

I've had 3 of these. We had significant mold issues with little ability to clean, ended up returning them for more traditional ones.

Had this for 1 season and it worked fabulous last summer. It replaced a monster windows AC that was a lot louder, used a lot more electricity, and didn't cool nearly as nicely. I'm hopingthe 8000 BTU models go on sale as well.
