I'm sure it's been mentioned and buried but extended warranty benefit goes away next month which sucks
Uhh yeah I have an Amex, this is not true lol
I'm sure citi fought hard in the bidding process to beat Amex to get the Costco account. Part of the terms were probably to offer better benefits for the customer....

So I bit on the the Blue Card Offer. 300$ back after 1k spending in 3 months. I talked with the rep and she indicated that they are proactively offering this to Costco customers now. Its not a hard credit pull and is supposed to match exactly what your existing card has. Pretty much they are now trying to present an offer to keep customers, even if the offers aren't all that great. She said the existing Costco Amex will just roll over to Citi with any balance on it. So pretty much a clean slate on an Amex card that mimics the existing one. If you are looking for specials there are better offers out there, If you are just looking to keep an Amex in the wallet, then its not a bad deal.
May I ask how you were presented with this offer? I had the same offer some time back, but the pop-up on my Costco AmEx account now offers a less attractive $100 after $1000 spending and a potential $200 from cellular bills, which will do me little good. Is there any way to still get this offer? Any opinions whether the offer I have is the best I will be able to get for the Blue Cash AmEx?

I would just contact them and see what they offer. I got the cell bill on mine as well.

I called to ask questions, and they offered to sign me up for the Blue Cash on the phone. I talked to two different reps, and both said they had no offers that came close to the offer presented when logging in to my account.
I took the $300 for Blue Preferred to keep an AMEX In the wallet. We'll use it some for groceries, but mostly so that I can still get the AMEX Twitter offers. They're usually pretty good over the holidays.

I'd say just sit and wait then. See if the offer pops up again. Mine have changed a few times.
I don't think so, 3% is pretty high on restaurants, and 4% on gas. The cards with rotating categories will beat these for 1/4 of the year, for example Freedom offers 5% on gas right now until April 1, but I don't think there's a 4% yearly gas card for no fee.
Pretty good card, it looks like
PenFed is 5% on gas all year round and it just comes off in cash when your statement closes. No annual fee either.
Um, that's not good enough for me.
Citi Double Cash MasterCard offers 2% on all purchases, no limits, no caps, no annual fee and no commitment to Costco.
OT, Costco isn't that cheap anymore and I'm seriously considering downgrading my executive membership for a standard one. Same thing with Amazon, so I canceled Prime.
More off topic....if you own AMEX, they're rebating 10% of your cell phone bill up to $30.

Are you sure about not having a hard pull on your experian report? I have tried couple of times in last few months and each time they come back to instruct me to open my credit which is frozen, so they definitely want to do a hard pull.
Also anyone knows if the premium car rental insurance of this card matches that of Amex?
