I just got denied. I have over a 740 credit score and made over 185k last year. Wtf

It took me half a year of trying to get a WF cc and I'm 800+, but I churn cards and they're known for somehow continuing to be mysteriously picky
Little known WF perk-<$2/mo is completely waived. I fully enjoy getting that credit every month x3 cards soon via wallyworld another payment amount option

Used this to, effectively, buy a car. 2 year car loan @ 0%. No bank can match it. Sure, it was a $10k used car, but still.

Also, a no annual fee cc with cell phone break/loss protection. Pretty nice feature.

I have a State Farm US Bank card with 0% for 18 months. My credit limit is higher with them than any other card I have. They gave me a $150 bonus if I spent a certain amount within the first few months of opening apparently. I also earn 3% back each month by putting my insurance payment on the card. I have 2 WF cards. One is no interest for 24 months the other has a zero balance and they just sent me an offer to do a balance transfer at 0% for 18 months. Both banks have been good to me so far.

How did you use the credit card to pay for the car?

The Autograph card is 3% BT fee. Unfortunately, Reflect is 5%. I went through a rigmarole with Wells Fargo on the phone yesterday. I got approved for 18k on the Reflect and went for the Autograph but got declined. Reason cited was I had recently applied.

WF rep. recommended manual underwriting then a product switch if I didn't get approved. Welp...I requested manual underwriting but still got declined (heard back the same day). I called the next day for the product switch and they then said that the Reflect and Autograph cannot be switched but WF Active Cash card could. I already have that card and am well past the promo period so that doesn't help.

Writing this to give you guys some insight. Hope it helps.

TLDR: if you want the new card for BT, apply for the Autopgraph FIRST.

Do you have a link to the Autograph 21 Month promotion? I tried going via Google but it shows up as 12 month to me. Thanks

Do you all do cards like this to use your money elsewhere or is it because you have debt that you're trying to pay down?

Anyone know of if it's possible to use the balance transfer, even with the 5% fee, and get it transferred to a checking account?

In my case, it's usually to use the 0% APR to make a big purchase, i.e. a $20k multi-family vacation, and pay it off over the 21 month while paying minimum monthly payment and full payment at the end. And use the cash in the meantime to collect 5%+ in a CD. On $20k, that's around $1,750 at 5% over the 21 months.

This is what I do as well. I have the money but why pay for it when I can collect interest in the interim. I just took a small car loan I am tempted to pay off with a no interest card.

Ok but you don't need to use branches to take advantage of their credit cards. Sure, they want you to establish a relationship with the bank, but we are just here to game them. I have zero loyalty to the banks whose products I use to maximize my own dollars.

I have their Cash+ card which I've been using for years to get 5% cash back on all my utility and cell phone bills. I have never been in a branch.
I've had a bank account with them for over 10 years and have only stepped foot in a branch maybe 4 times lol

They'll approve you and then after you pay everything off within the 12 months, they'll close your account without warning.
