Same price on Newegg. Newegg had it on sale for $200 a couple of days ago, and Amazon was already pricematching it then via a clipped coupon.

As I noted then, $220 seems to be the current street price. It has been $220 on Amazon for most of the past two months. I feel like the $200 price point makes it a good value for a great router, but it's not a huge discount from the normal street price. Especially if you can take advantage of the trade-in deal at Best Buy.

Got the rated 2.5 gbps wired but only could get about 1.3 gbps wireless. Was more than enough anyways though

Archer has more advanced hardware (tri-band). Asus has better longer term software support, so you get less hardware for the same $. Choose what you care about.

I have the non-pro version of this router and it covers my entire 2300 sq ft 2-story home no problem. Of course it will depend on your home's layout. For me, it was a noticeable step up from my Netgear R7800 and I was able to ditch my extender that I had previously needed to reach a couple outdoor cameras.

If you can jack up Tx power from 100 mW to 700 mW using some nvram settings, this would easily cover 5000 sq feet, unless you have heavy brick/steel walls or some elongated house shape

Any advantage of this router over my current my current Orbi RBR40 mesh setup? I recently got 1.5 Gig Cable connection and Orbi only goes to 1Gig but since most of my devices max out at 1Gig, I'm debating whether it will be worth an upgrade or not.

also, just flash openwrt and now you have better hardware with a better os than both brands offer.
