I've had this set for about 4yrs now.

I'm a big DIY'r and have used each piece a lot more than I ever would have expected, and probably a lot more than any normal person ever would - from car & appliance maintenance/repair to running ethernet & electrical cables throughout the house.

These things are solid and have held up great. I now have 3 sets - one in each vehicle tool box, and one on my work bench.

As far as this deal goes... I'm almost positive I paid the same amount 4 yrs ago.
Yeah, but Craftsman stands behind their product with their lifetime warranty unlike the no-name Chinese junk form Amazon
Put your links where your mouth is. A quick search on Amazon and the no name stuff is at best the same price as these and then on up to 2x+ the price. It'd all be the same quality so what's wrong with this set (especially if Craftsman really will back it up with replacement)?

It's super cheapo made, not true "Craftsman" quality. Better off with no name stuff from Amazn.

That is a fair point, but do you really want to deal with the hassle of having this cheapo break on you when you need it and the have to deal with getting it replaced (and probably break again). All for $10? Personally, I would rather get something better and have it work when I really need it.

Not the same Craftsman as we remember. I have a cheap magnetic extender that is great for nails and screws, etc. Paid $3 a few years ago. if you really need it for something important, go and try in person instead of ordering online. Will this really pick up keys never mind two pounds? Is the extended long enough?

Yup, make sure you have a receipt or on your account. Otherwise they tell you to pound sand

Fill out a form and describe what happened. It would also help to attach the screenshot of your receipt. No questions asked, they will send you a new tool. I didn't even have to send in my broken tool for them to inspect so there's no time wasting from both parties. I will continue to purchase Craftsman tools, it's rare to see good business ethics today.

Are you a gorilla? No one will be slapping these around or dropping them from a 10 story building. There may be certain tools that demand durability because of their use. This set is not one of them. Plus, it's less than a whopper combo at Burger King

From what I have seen with new craftsman warranty you can't just walk in to a store and get replacement tools. First you need the receipt second you need to contact either call/chat/email their warranty department. You will be required to send a picture/video of the broken tool. They no longer cover failure from wear and tear or if they think it was misused. You also have to look at the warranty on the pack or website because not everything that is craftsman is covered under the lifetime warranty! Good Luck
