Nice, I was hesitating on whether to pull the trigger this morning at $1,000. Now the deal is even better. Gonna get one to replace my dell with an 8th gen i7 and 1060gtx.

Edit: this laptop actually comes with a copy of Black Myth: Wukong because of nVidia's current promo (free copy with a purchase of 4070 or higher GPU), which is a game I'm going to buy anyways, so this makes the deal even sweeter.
I don't know where you're drawing these random inferences from, the 4060 and 4070 both are set to max out at 115W and anything above that is mostly useless/unutilizable. So, the 4070 in this would actually perform similarly to a 140W 4070, and in no way is a 90W 4060 going to outrun this.

Pretty good deal. $100 less than the TUF but at the expense of the screen.

So long as the display supports 144hz, yes. Hdmi 2.1 supports up to 144hz 4k

So close to Prime Day is it worth it? This might be one of the only ones that are, wow.

Last year, a day later Micro Center ( in store ) so only one day and I think 6 hours later IIRC BB also was matching Amazon Prime Days. At least that's what Input in my Calendar notes.
This one with a 4070 I would not think can go ANY lower.

Does this one have the good 4070 or the gimped low power 4070? I got the 14" G14 4060 for this same price and am still within return window. I love the G14 build quality, and smaller 14" form factor and 2800P screen but if this has a significantly better GPU I might consider returning the G14 for this.

EDIT: never mind. Not giving up the OLED screen w/ VRR. Keeping the G14

Pretty good deal. If it had a thunderbolt or oculink port it would be an even better deal bc you could always expand with an eGPU. 👍

Yep, 100w (115 with boost) 4070 isn't gonna knock a 90w 4060 out of the park.

oh wow, how's the condition? It was $1100 last night but today they bumped up the excellent to $1230. $70 discount for open box is lame.

how do you like it? I ordered the Alienware M16 R2 RTX4070 for $1300 but I think this would be better. Way more portable at nearly half the weight. I'm guessing only 10-20% slower. It's for a 12yo, he won't notice that.

my only concern is I hear it gets very hot. can you confirm if that's a problem? also, does the usb4 port work for data for you? lots of complaints about that. finally, how's the stability of it?

I bought a 2021 ROG13 and it's very unstable. Crashes every few hours and half the time, the AC adaptor doesn't work at all. It's also very loud even in silent mode.

I bought this last year from Costco (with Intel cpu) and the 4070 performs at top 10th percentile.
