Anyone not getting this is a deal for pure hardware is missing the point.
Is it thin and light? No.
Does it have aluminum chassis or mechanical keys? No.
Will it run everything at high settings and keep you happy for 4 years? Easily.
I upgraded the M.2 to be 2TB with
Nextorage Japan NEM-PAB 2TB

Thanks! Is there a laptop one that performs like a 4070 desktop?
4080 laptop is almost dead even with 4070 desktop.
The 4080 laptops usually start around $1300 and up
Anyone know the response time? I can deal with color issues but need good rt

It's not a great screen but it's a decent screen and ips with 300 nits. It's hard to beat this laptops specs for under $1,000. I bought the open box excellent for $763
What about the screen? It seems fine to me. I mean it is not 4k or oled, but it is fine. 1080p at 16" shouldn't give you a terrible screen door effect. It's IPS which I like. 144hz is fine too. 300nits is acceptable, but probably not great in direct sunlight. If you want something fancier you can pay more or buy an external monitor.

Obviously 8GB of VRAM is now a problem, but that's hard to overcome when Nvidia seems determined to rip off gamers with low frame buffers. As such, this GPU will not be capable of Ultra settings on many future titles, even at 1080p, as titles like the previously mentioned Indiana Jones frequently run out of frame buffer with 8GB cards above medium settings.
The screen is kind of entry level as far as gaming screens come (300 nits is a minimum, 144hz is basically expected for 1080p gaming displays) but the package as a whole is very well priced.
1080p screen
Realtek Wi-Fi (not Intel)
Older ports and only one USB C port (USB A and C are 3.0)
2x8GB RAM so if you want to upgrade you'll be replacing both sticks
512GB hard drive takes up the only available slot
White only keyboard light (no RGB)
On the positive side this is hands down the cheapest 4070 you're going to get and at 1080p it should run everything you throw at it.
