That Ryzen cou has no integrated gpu, so battery life is terrible compared to the TUF which is excellent.

It might be beating this TUF A16 for gaming, but only slightly. Screen is also pretty dim, but not bad otherwise.

Not a bad choice if you will always have it plugged in.

Ok price for the new. Open box looks to be in the same range as before.

Own this one but got a better open box deal while the 4060s were pricing around 800 new. At this price point for new on both the 7700s and 4060 laptops, however, I would get one of the 4060 laptops at $700 during BF.

Too bad they didn't hit lows with the open box. Should have hit $600 new to move units during the end of the year.

At this price range, it looks like the better value is to go with a 4060 based laptop given the better game support and AI compute abilities...

I thought the 7700s is stopped to be between 4060 and 4070. And does the extra 8gb of ram matter compared to the 4060 deals?

From what I've read from rtings and laptop reviews, some games played better with the 4060 and some played better with the 7700s. The one area the latter wins is in power saving. I went with the 7700s because I just prefer the power savings over a slight boost in performance.

It is and I would go with this laptop over any 4060 any day of the week...

Bought one of these when it was $700 and I'm pleasantly surprised with it. I bumped it up to 32GB RAM and two 2TB SSDs. My only complaint is it takes some time getting used to some of the key placements, but otherwise no issues here so far.

May i know which specific ram model did you upgrade to? I bought a 32gb crucial ddr5 4800mhz and it wont boot up. I read online these laptops are picky on ram brands

I bought mine last week when it was 700$, I want my $20 back. Joking aside a great machine, no regrets was thinking of this or the LOQ but went with this mainly due to having better battery life(due to the integrated graphics i presume) over the Lenovo which was going for the same price.

Admittedly, I could be reading the benchmarks wrong...but I think you might be getting confused between the 3060 (laptop) and the 4060 (laptop). If my memory is correct, the 7700S is between the 3060 (laptop) and the 3070 (laptop).
The 7700S is right around the 4060, if a bit below:
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Laptop GPU vs AMD Radeon RX 7700S [notebookcheck.net]

Also, anyone who has been tracking this bad boy knows it's the open box that's the real deal. Especially if you can pull a "fair" actually in mint condition because it's missing a box or something. Unfortunately, it looks like the open box pricing didn't get a drop.

Sure, more ram is always nice. It's a cheap upgrade, however, while you live with the GPU.
