I like the outlet arrangement and the USB charging options, but this Amazon review [amazon.com] with a screenshot from Anker support indicates the clamping voltage is 1200V. Hard pass for me.

Just curious if anyone in here personally has ever successfully made good on equipment warranty from a power strip? Not "I heard from my uncle's cousin who had a friend..." but personally ever lost equipment and was able to cash in on a warranty from a power strip? I seriously have a hard time believing it isn't anything more than a marketing gimmick.

It is real insurance however, it is mostly a marketing gimmick. I have known a few people that tried to claim it after lightning storm or other event knocked out their stuff. They said the number of steps in the claim is extreme and they will find any reason to deny. One of the steps to claim it is that you have to ship your items to them or a company of their choosing that will determine if the power strip was at fault. You have to pay for the shipping and in the end they simply claimed that the strip was not at fault and blamed the fried equipment manufacturer. You do not get the items back and you cannot go against their findings.

I bought this very maker power strip thinking it'd protect my equipment and ended up returning and purchased two surge protectors from Monoprice.
