I tried both and the luxe leaked in about 6 months. I installed 4 of the bio 3 years ago and still no leaks (knock on the wood).

Bidets are a life-changer. Single best improvement you can make in your house. I still can't believe the vast majority of Americans prefer smearing waste around their exit hole and calling that good instead of cleaning themselves with a gentle stream of water.

no self cleaning function? its probably not necessary but most bidets have it.

I bought exact one from OP and had to remove it after few months. The OFF location has to be precise or it will leak.

I think you mean that it wasn't turned off correctly (not leaking). I agree but it is easily detected by the sound of water dripping in the toilet. For the past 3 years, it happened handful of times only. In terms of leaking, we haven't had any leaks for 3 years and we are family of 6 using 4 of these. Maybe we are lucky, but my in-laws also haven't had any leaks either (they have the older model from bio)

Is self cleaning that big of a deal for these bidets?
Looks like that's the only option missing compared to Walmart Luxe deal.

I have this model, it does not have a self cleaning feature, and it really, really needs it. Expect to have to hand clean the nozzles on a regular basis. Since they just rotate up when you turn it on, and stick out into the bowl pointed down when you aren't, any splash action that'd hit the sides of the bowl will hit the nozzles.

The design also seems like it'd be prone to leaks. The water lines run through that thin plastic arm and back, so breaking that off accidentally would be extremely bad.

I bought two, installed one, and when I get around to it, I'm removing that one. Too much of a hassle to clean, and a little extra TP doesn't cost that much.

Not really. The self-cleaning is not that great in cleaning the nozzle (at least on the luxe brand I had before). No substitute for cleaning them. I install it all the way back in the toilet and that seems to keep it relatively clean.
