Still overpriced. Should be $150 or less now. I refuse to buy until prices come down more!

It's also useless beyond Xbox, whereas an SSD would be useful in other ways

Yeah I am going to keep putting off buying these until there is no point regardless of the price because they will most likely be useless next gen.

From target I got one of those 512 or 1tb ones when they were really cheap, have yet to even use it...
Geez I wonder why you or anyone at least even bought it not knowing it would be collecting dust. would have had saved $60 right there

Decent price for XSX storage upgrade for the paltry stock 1TB. Thank you M$oft for being greedy bastages for this proprietary crap, learn from Sony who's had non proprietary storage upgrades since the PS3 for the next gen please.

I guess sony learned after their doomed proprietary PSVita memory cards which completely killed the system. (4GB card for 39$, 16GB card was over $100 bucks, lol). Shame they killed an entire portable console generation to learn that lesson.

If this was $150, I might bite. Right now it's outrageous considering what you get for the dollar. The adapter is like $5-10 in plastic and metals. The drive is a basic gen4 2230. Top performance 2TB drives are going for less than $150.

I think this is also more expensive due to the size of the drive vs your standard m.2 sized drive.

For reference, the sabrent 2tb drive for a steam deck is $249

https://www.newegg.com/p/0D9-001Y..._-10112023

And the mid range WD 2tb version is $219.

While these are probably better than what's inside the Xbox version listed here, you can see that the pricing is much higher than the typical 2tb standard m.2 nvme drive we are all accustomed to.

I think MS f'd up going this form factor. They should have provided alternative options to include expansion drives that uses the mass produced 2280 form factor. Give the consumers that choice. Personally I wouldn't mind a stick sticking out the back of my console that I never see…

They should have just made a clip on the back to take off and insert the standard one. It was a real mistake.
