The day after Prime Day they dropped the price by over $5.

Still overpriced for what it is but the cheapest I've seen nonetheless.

Realistically, what is a fair price for this storage device? Obviously the original price of $359.99 is crazy when you compare it to the price of both the xbox system and other 2TB SSDs.

I don't know that there IS a "fair price" that it will ever hit. $250 is the normal price and $230 is the usual discount price, so for those that want the item this is a good price. Ideally it would be no more expensive than an external SSD of the same capacity, so roughly a hundred dollars less than what they're charging for this. I doubt we'll see that price until after the current gen consoles are replaced by a new generation (that will also probably have its own generation-specific proprietary cards).

But those who are downvoting what may be its lowest price ever (aside from price mistakes I don't know about) apparently don't get the point of Slickdeals... same type of people who go into Apple threads and downvote them because Apple products are "not a good price". You and I may not like what they're charging but unless you can point to a better deal you can't get that item for less. This is a licensed product and an regular external SSD won't do what the expansion card will do, so direct comparisons are pointless.
