Anyone think this will go under $200 by the end of year?

This is such a crime honestly. How much profit makes them happy? Apparently they are use to scalping without being challenged. I would pass until it's more reasonable.

Could anyone explain why use the Xbox expansion port when you could plug in an external drive?

A standard external drive can have games stored on it, and directly play games off of it that were made for older systems. This can do that PLUS play games that were made for the current gen.

If you have a large library of older games, try the much cheaper external drive. If you have a large library of the newest games for the Series X/S, you want this one (if you got a normal external drive to store the games, you'd have to free up space on the internal drive, then transfer the game from the external drive to the internal, then play from there).

I just got a Series X so most of my games are for the older generation, I figure 1TB should be plenty for the newer games at least for now.

Possible but don't try unless u got time to kill. Like with previous consoles they made it not friendly. I did the xbox one x.. but decided against XSX bc the company couldn't have made it more difficult.

Think like rebuilding a car on its electrical system. U have to tear apart the entire thing and then rebuild. The location of the ssd is underneath layers of construction purposely designed for difficulty. Unlike the playstation which was designed with friendliness to mod ssd. I have also done it on that so this is personal experience.

Do not think about doing XSX unless u enjoy tinkering with gadgets and time to kill.
