Open box excellent for $754 is tempting. Really wish there was a discount on the 32GB ram version though.

32G version was hardly on sale in last six months, you can check on Lenovo affinity/epp store.

I bought this direct from Lenovo back in June. I also purchased the upgrade to 1TB of storage upgrade for $45, and 32GB memory upgrade for $69 (not user upgradable) and upgrade to Windows 11 pro for $29. Which made it a great deal. Obviously this has a much lower base price. So if you don't really need those upgrades go for it. Best Laptop I've ever owned. Lightweight, quiet, cool and runs fast with gorgeous 1000 nit HDR OLED screen.

Tip, here's a good list of known native ARM apps (but even x86/x64 runs great in emulation) :
https://armrepo.ver.lt/

Canary build of Windows adds AVX/AVX2 instruction support for the Prism x86/x64 emulator which will mostly add compatibility with some modern games and a few niche apps (Adobe Premiere 2025).

How is the battery life, this is one of the considerable hype about these ARM-based laptops they have excellent battery life, the claimed 22 hours, but even if I get 10-12 hours of normal use, that I would consider as excellent battery life.
One thing, I hate about his laptop is why Lenovo decided to not include the fingerprint reader.

Maybe eventually, but I think we're a good 5-10 years away from that happening on the Windows side. Mac is already there, but x86 on Windows is like herding cats. iIRC, less than 1% of Windows PCs sold this year ran on ARM. There's less than 10 million of them out there. That market share will grow over time because in many ways ARM is the future, but it will be much slower than it was for Apple.

Yeah claimed hours are always unrealistic because they're based on a way virtually nobody uses a laptop. Of course battery life depends on what you do during those hours, google search different experiences, I found one where a person was disappointed to only get 12 hours, lol. In short battery life is great on average as long as you don't overstress the system.

Maybe in 2035, maybe. Meantime, I won't be a beta tester.

Of course. I'm ARM-curious. Why would I not be? It's far superior hardware. I want to jump ship, too, once it make sense. As long as WoA's market share is 0.8%, I won't. 0.8% will get app support commensurate to that 0.8% market share. That's on new PC sales. So the share of the installed base is what? 0.2%? Who will properly support that? Most people who are buying these devices don't even understand what they are buying.

So if everyone followed you, market share would never increase and by your logic, WoA would fail.

Despite your logic, many major apps have developed for ARM, despite having low market share. The more people that demand apps, the more pressure on devs to recompile for ARM.

elite chip is a promising upgrade to plus line on CPU and GPU (they have the same NPU), but still not justifying the 350$ diff. comparing to the 499 bestbuy asus vivo. Did I miss sth. important?
